Alex Mytton Retreats is a trading name of Mytton LTD
Last updated: 17 August 2026
These Terms & Conditions govern your booking with us. By booking a retreat, you confirm you've read and agree to them.
1. About Us
• Alex Mytton Retreats is a trading name of Mytton LTD (“Mytton”, “we”, “us”), company number 09220235, registered office 19–20 Bourne Court, Southend Road, Woodford Green, Essex, IG8 8HD.
• Our retreats take place internationally, including Italy, Spain, Morocco, the UK, South Africa and Madeira. Accommodation, programme and inclusions vary by retreat — always check the individual retreat page.
• Our retreats are open to guests aged 18 and over unless a retreat page states otherwise.
2. Booking & Payment
• A booking is confirmed once we've received your deposit (20% of the total price) or full payment, and we've accepted your booking.
• The remaining balance is due 6 weeks before the retreat start date, unless otherwise agreed. Payment plans are available for selected retreats — the full price remains payable per the agreed schedule.
• Payment can be made by Stripe or bank transfer.
• If payment is overdue and remains unpaid after we contact you, we may treat your booking as cancelled under Section 5, subject to your statutory rights.
• Where a booking covers more than one person, the person booking confirms they have the authority of everyone named to enter this contract, and these Terms apply to each guest individually.
3. What's Included
Depending on the retreat, your booking may include accommodation, meals at the retreat accommodation, transfers (where stated), scheduled retreat practices, and activities specifically listed as included.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, your price does not include flights, travel to/from the destination, meals outside the retreat accommodation, travel insurance, travel documentation, personal expenses, or optional treatments.
4. Optional Treatments & Independent Activities
Optional 1-to-1 treatments with independent practitioners are not included unless stated, and are booked and paid for directly with the practitioner. We don't vet or take responsibility for independent practitioners' qualifications, insurance or standard of treatment.
The same applies to any excursion or activity you arrange independently during free time — it's not part of our retreat, your contract is with that provider, and we're not liable for it.
5. Cancellation by You
• Cancel within 7 days of booking: full refund of payments made.
• After 7 days: your 20% deposit is non-refundable and retained, even if you later find you can't attend.
• Within 30 days of the retreat start date: the full retreat fee is payable. If you haven't yet paid in full, the outstanding balance remains due.
• Non-attendance without prior cancellation: the full retreat fee is payable, with no refund.
This is based on the total retreat price, not just what you've paid so far — including for payment plans. Where a refund is due, we may deduct the card processing fee incurred in reversing payment (around 1.5% UK cards, 3% international). If you can no longer attend, contact us — we may be able to transfer your place to someone else, subject to availability. Nothing here removes any statutory rights you have, including rights that apply to certain package travel bookings.
6. Cancellation or Changes by Us
We may need to make changes to the programme — practitioners, timings, venue — due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control. We'll aim to preserve the overall quality and intention of the retreat.
Where a retreat needs a minimum number of guests to run (stated on the retreat page) and that minimum isn't reached by 30 days before the start date, we may cancel and provide a full refund.
If we cancel for other reasons, we'll offer a transfer to a future retreat or a full refund, and contact you as soon as reasonably possible. We're not responsible for related costs such as flights, without prejudice to any statutory rights that apply where your booking is a package under applicable law.
7. Travel, Documents & Insurance
You're responsible for your own travel to and from the retreat, and for passports, visas and any other required documentation, unless we've expressly stated otherwise. We're not liable for delays, cancellations or disruption to your travel arrangements, or for your inability to travel due to inadequate documentation.
We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, medical expenses, travel disruption and personal belongings.
8. Health & Participation
Our retreats may include breathwork, yoga, movement, cold exposure and other wellbeing practices. These are not medical treatment and aren't intended to diagnose, treat or cure any condition.
Please tell us about any relevant medical condition, injury, pregnancy or other circumstance via our pre-retreat health questionnaire, and seek advice from a healthcare professional where appropriate. Always follow facilitator guidance — we may ask you to modify or sit out a practice for your safety or others'.
9. Behaviour & Your Responsibility
We ask everyone to treat other guests, facilitators, staff and local communities with respect. We don't tolerate threatening, abusive, discriminatory or seriously disruptive behaviour, and may require you to leave the retreat if it creates a safety risk — without refund, and at your own cost for return travel.
You're responsible for any loss or damage you or your party cause during the retreat, and agree to indemnify us for any resulting claim or cost. Individual retreats may have their own guidance on alcohol; illegal drugs are never permitted.
10. Personal Belongings & Photography
You're responsible for your own belongings — we recommend avoiding unnecessary valuables and ensuring your travel insurance covers them.
Photography and filming may take place for promotional purposes. If you don't want to appear in identifiable content, let us know, ideally before the retreat.
11. Our Liability
We take reasonable care selecting the accommodation providers, practitioners, venues and suppliers we work with. Nothing here excludes or limits liability where that would be unlawful — including death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.
Subject to that, our total liability to you is limited to the price you paid for the retreat, and we're not liable for indirect or consequential losses. We're also not liable for failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control — natural disasters, extreme weather, pandemics, war, civil unrest, government restrictions, strikes or transport disruption — though we'll communicate with you and take reasonable steps where these affect your retreat.
12. Complaints, Website & Intellectual Property
If something isn't right, please tell us as soon as possible, ideally while you're still on retreat, so we can try to resolve it. If that's not possible, email retreats@alexmytton.co.uk afterwards.
We aim to keep our website accurate, though photos and descriptions may be illustrative and we may correct errors. All website content — writing, photography, branding — belongs to or is licensed to Mytton LTD, and may not be reproduced or used commercially without our written permission.
13. Privacy
Our separate Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal information. By booking, you acknowledge your information will be processed in line with it.
14. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless mandatory consumer law says otherwise. Any dispute is subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to your right as a consumer to bring proceedings in your own country of residence.
